With the welcome return of summer weather throughout Michigan seasonal use items come out of storage including motorcycles, travel trailers, and RVs.
Frequently people either downgrade or entirely remove insurance coverage from these items during the months they are stored away and out of use.
With that in mind it’s important to remember to upgrade or add insurance for any items coming out of storage that were uninsured or only insured for “storage” coverage throughout the winter.
We recommend clients place a large sticker on these types of items with a message like “call insurance agent before using” as a reminder. Otherwise it’s all too easy to forget that important step and find yourself without any insurance coverage when a loss occurs.
