CONDO INSURANCE

If you own a condo, you have different insurance needs than a typical homeowner.

As a member of a condo association you participate in shared ownership of the buildings and common areas of the association.

The condo association will customarily carry insurance for the buildings while you will be responsible for insuring your personal belongings and, typically, some portion of the interior. This may range from the drywall in (including cabinetry and appliances) to just insuring any improvements or renovations you make to the interior of your unit.

It’s always advisable to confirm, either in the association by-laws or by consulting the board, your specific responsibilities to ensure you have the appropriate coverage on your individual condo insurance policy.

A condo insurance policy will provide coverage for portions of the structure that are your responsibility as well as your personal belongings.

Coverage will also be included to pay any extra expenses if you are temporarily displaced from your condo due to a covered loss.

Liability protection is also included in the event you are responsible for injuries suffered by a guest visiting your condominium.

A basic condo policy may be tailored to provide coverage for an array of additional items, including:

  • Jewelry, artwork, and other collectibles
  • Personal electronics
  • Golf carts, recreational vehicles, and small watercraft
  • Condo association loss assessment

Our online quote request guides you through securely submitting detailed information to help us design an insurance policy for your condo and personal belongings. If our proposal meets your approval you will be able to complete the purchase process entirely online.
